Urban Zen Teams Up with FEED Projects for Holiday Shopping Event

Donna Karan founded the Urban Zen Foundation after her husband fell ill and she was confronted with a new awareness of the flaws and potential within the health care system.  As she says on her site, " I have spent decades dressing people.  Now I want to address them."

TODAY, tickets are on sale for the Fourth Annual Holiday FEED-Raiser and Market on GiltCity.com.  This will be a great opportunity for holiday shopping, especially if you're interested in buying sustainable artisan goods. The event will take place on December 14 from 6:30-9:00pm at the Urban Zen Event Space in the West Village.  A variety of fair-trade jewelry and home goods will be on sale while a jazz band plays and champagne flows freely.

I had the pleasure of attending an event at the Urban Zen Center some time ago, and in addition to its long-running support of great causes, it's a truly gorgeous, sanctuary-like space in the middle of the City.  If you can, you should take advantage of this unique opportunity to do something good for others, in an environment that will make you feel wonderful.

Urban Zen designs forums to discuss goals that fall under its three focal points: well-being, empowering children, and preserving cultures.  The organization also partners creatively and financially with likeminded foundations in order to gain attention for its causes and implement action on their behalf.

FEED Projects is a charitable partner of Urban Zen whose mission it is to create goods that provide food for individuals and families in need.

I'm sure with Donna Karan behind it, this event will be beautiful.
